I don’t usually wear red tights as I prefer to leave looking like a clown, Santa’s little helper or a super hero to young children.
Red tights in ‘Cherry red’, ‘Fire-Engine Red’ and ‘Stop-Light red’ can be a somewhat intimidating colour but, when worn correctly, they can make a real bold pizazz statement.
So how about making red tights the star of the show by teaming them with jet black, navy blue, beige, polka dots, cool crisp whites or even a ditzy flora?
Let’s start with a little black dress. Add some sexy red stockings teamed with high heel black stilettos or high heel boots and a simple black trench.
How about black ankle boots worn with a grey dress (or grey skirt with matching cable sweater), black leather bag and red hot tights. The red can also be accented with matching jewellery or a scarf with red highlights.
How about a sophisticated look? Red tights with navy blue high waisted shorts teamed with a crisp white shirt; tying the look together with a coordinating red belt. You could also try a more casual look teaming red tights with denim shorts/denim skirt a simple tee or hoodie and tough looking black boots, casual converse or ballerina flats.
And, finally, how can anyone forget the 2007 Gossip Girl look? Rocking the red tights with a navy outfit with white detailing, pinstripe blazer, navy flats and head band with red accents?
So there you go. Red is not just for lips and nails. There are some other great ways to wear our scarlet friend!
